Exciting *NEW* Production for Channel4
Ginger and the award winning british documentary maker Kim Longinotto (Divorce Iranian Style & Rough Aunties); came together to produce a 90' feature length documentary for Channel4.
"In the dead of a North Indian night, four hundred howling women, masked and dressed from head-to-toe in pink robes break into the home of a local man and use impressive martial arts skills to overwhelm him and escort him to the police station. He doesn't know it but among them is his long suffering wife whom he has beaten mercilessly for five years, permanently scarring her face. She blesses the day that the Gulabi Gang, India's pink clad vigilante sisterhood, came to her village and gave her the strength and the means to stand up to her husband at last."
Ginger and Kim had exclusive access to the Gulabi gang.
During the filming of the show Ginger and Kim lived side-by-side with its feisty leader, Sampat Pal Devi.
Pink Saris has been an exciting and thought provoking project throughout and is set for a theatrical/festival life prior to going on Channel4.
